You will get to explore these 4000-year-old pyramid structures from Menakaure, the smallest one to the largest one, the Great Pyramid or the Pyramid of Khufu. Just behind the Great Pyramid, you will come across the Solar Boat Museum. Make sure to check out Sphinx, the Pharaoh-faced lion-bodied guardian.

• Visit Saqqara and Dahshur

Saqqara and Dahshur are as significant as the Pyramids of Giza and worth a visit while in the city. A 30km drive from Cairo will take you to the other pyramids. Look for the Step Pyramid in Saqqara with painted tombs in the surroundings. In Dahshur, you will get the Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid to explore.

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Citadel offers panoramic views from the Mokattam hills. The star attraction at the Citadel that you should lo for is the Mosque of Muhammad Ali.
