  • Head out to Nairobi National Park

You shouldn’t miss out on this attraction at any cost while in Nairobi. A 7km drive from the city center will take you to this adventurous safari park. You will find more than 50 rhinos inside the park. Not only rhinos, cheetahs, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, and ostriches roam the park freely. Also over 400 bird species can be found here. If you dare to go on foot to observe the inhabitants you are most welcome to do so with the Nairobi Safari Walk and Hippo pools. At the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, you will find orphaned rhinos and elephants.

 

  • Explore artifacts at Nairobi National Museum

This is an excellent place to learn about Nairobi’s culture and history. You will discover art, exhibits belonging to various tribal groups, fossils, a collection of more than 900 stuffed birds, rocks, and prehistoric bones all under one roof.

 

  • Discover more exhibits at Karen Blixen Museum

This is yet another top-class attraction in Nairobi. Once the home of Karen Blixen, author of ‘Out of Africa’ at the base of the Ngong Hills, it is today converted to a spectacular museum housing a plant for coffee drying, a farmhouse, and a kitchen together with the furniture used, books and photographs of Karen Blixen.

 

  • Take a stroll in the Karura Forest Reserve

Taking a stroll in the Karura Forest is a good thing. But other than strolling, you can set up a picnic and enjoy the peaceful surroundings, go waterfall hunting, cycling, and spend all day relaxing at the reserve. Sighting of butterflies, birds, and monkeys are very common here.

At Bomas of Kenya, you will discover the various tribes, cultures, lifestyles, art, and music of Kenya. A 10km drive will take you to this living museum. At this attraction, a traditional village is constructed with Bomas to reflect the different ethnic groups in Kenya. You will find a lively atmosphere inside the premises and you will be able to catch up on some traditional dances.
